Do Crop Rotations in Rice Reduce Weed and Echinochloa spp. Infestations? Recommendations for Integrated Weed Control
نویسندگان
چکیده
The species belonging to the genus Echinochloa represent main weeds in rice fields worldwide. Heavy soils are especially appropriate for this crop that is often grown monoculture. A drought period 2012 impeded farmers from sowing some parts of region Aragon (northeastern Spain) and, unusually, they seeded alternative crops such as winter cereal, fescue (Festuca arundinacea), ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) and lucerne (Medicago sativa). total 20 were selected, which had been monocrop until 2011 several sequences established afterwards; weed vegetation was recorded spring, summer autumn 2014-16 find out if rotations reduced infestations. Winter cereal with highest soil cover; difficulties installation probably due heavy textures. spp. plants found stubble after having previous two years before that; forage fields, small earing adapted mowing detected. Recommendations Integrated Weed Management arise observations ploughing seed shed emerged plants, assuring a high density crops, efficient herbicide control fields.

Radiations and radioisotopes are used in agricultural research to induce genetic variability in crop plants to develop improved varieties, to manage insect pests, monitor fate and persistence of pesticides, to study fertilizer use efficiency and plant micronutrient uptake and also to preserve agricultural produce. Use of radiation and radioisotopes in agriculture is one of the most important fi...

Two experiments were established in 2003 at the Rice Research and Extension Center near Stuttgart, Ark., to evaluate the potential of penoxsulam (Grasp) as part of a rice weed control program. In experiment one, penoxsulam applied alone and in tank mixtures early postemergence (EPOST) (two-leaf rice, one-leaf grass, two-leaf weeds) was evaluated, and experiment two evaluated penoxsulam applied ...

Kochia (Kochia scoparia L.), Russian thistle (Salsolatragus L.), and prickly lettuce (Lactuca serriola L.) are economically important weeds infesting dryland wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production systems in the western United States. Those weeds produce most of their seeds post-harvest. The objectives of this study were to determine the ability of an optical sensor, installed for on-the-go me...
متن کاملDesign and Fabrication of a Microwave Weed Killer Device for Weed Control Applications
In this paper, the design and the results of a microwave radiation system for agriculture applications is discussed. The system is fabricated and successfully tested on weed seeds. The device, which uses a commercial 1 kW magentron, proved to be effective for preventing the germination control of popular weeds of Iran. Seven weed species were tested separately by using this system and then the ...
متن کاملTrue integrated weed management
Using the simplest of definitions, integrated weed management has been described as “putting components [of weed control] together, not taking them apart.” Yet, weed science has stopped at the “field edge” in assembling the components into a truly integrated approach. What is keeping weed scientists from developing real integrated weed control regardless of space and time? The answer to this qu...
